2025 Live Butterfly Campaign
The day may have looked a little different than we intended but we didn’t let the cold, rain or the wind dampen our spirits. Over 500 butterflies still took flight from places meaningful to you.

We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us for the 18th Annual Run Hike for Hospice this past weekend. It was a beautiful, meaningful day filled with connection, community spirit, and remembrance.
Spring is a time of renewal, and at Red Deer Hospice, it’s also a time to reconnect—with nature, with community, and with the memory of loved ones. Whether you’re looking for meaningful ways to give, opportunities to gather, or moments that make you smile, there’s something for everyone this season.
Recently, we were touched by a heartfelt visit from Kyla and Katie, who stopped by to present a donation on behalf of the Kinette Club of Red Deer. The sisters spoke fondly of the time their father, Ron, had spent in our home.
It was wonderful to see all those who joined us for our 2024 Hospice Handbag Lunch on September 18th, 2024, and it was exciting to witness the enthusiasm of those who participated in the auction. Thanks to you, we have raised over $20,000!
On June 21st, hundreds of Painted Lady butterflies were individually packed and distributed via curbside pick up at Red Deer Hospice as part of their Live Butterfly Campaign. Running for its fourth year, the fundraiser offered individuals the opportunity to purchase live butterflies and release them in a location that was meaningful to them while supporting end-of-life care in Central Alberta.
