Board of Directors

Red Deer Hospice is a peaceful, home-like setting where individuals and families receive compassionate, dignified end-of-life care.

Our volunteer Governance Board of Directors plays a vital role in protecting and advancing our mission to support a peaceful and compassionate end-of-life journey.  This is guided by our values, supporting our team, and ensuring we continue to serve the community with integrity and excellence.

We are seeking new Board members who feel deeply connected to our values:

What Being on the Board Looks Like

Board members are stewards of the organization and ambassadors in the community. Responsibilities include:

• Representing Red Deer Hospice in the community and helping build awareness and support
• Attending Board and committee meetings, coming prepared, and contributing to thoughtful, respectful discussion
• Serving on at least one committee (Governance, Finance, Quality Improvement, or Fund Development)

Time Commitment

• Approximately 5–7 hours per month
• 7 Board meetings, 4-7 committee meetings, a General Meeting, a 2-day planning retreat annually
• Three-year term, renewable once

We Welcome Individuals Who:

• Genuinely align with our mission and values
• Demonstrate integrity, good judgment, and respect for confidentiality
• Can approach sensitive topics with compassion and care
• Bring experience in areas such as finance, law, healthcare, nonprofit governance, fundraising, or end-of-life care (helpful, but not required)

Most importantly, we are looking for people who care deeply about dignified end-of-life care and want to help ensure Red Deer Hospice continues to serve our community with excellence.
