ABOUT THE RED DEER HOSPICE

Compassion and comfort are at the heart of everything we do.

Our Home

The Red Deer Hospice is a home for the terminally ill and provides a quiet and caring environment for individuals who are at the end of life’s journey, a home away from home.

Located in the quiet area of Anders on the Lake with the beautiful Healing Garden across the street, the Hospice has 16 comfortably appointed private resident rooms. Each room is equipped with a hospital bed, a half bathroom and a living room style seating area with a pull-out couch for family members or loved ones who wish to spend the night.

Our Mission

To support a peaceful and compassionate end-of-life journey.

Our Vision

To be a leader in providing excellent, creative and holistic hospice care.

Our Values

The Care

Our 24-hour professional staff and volunteers work together, along with valued input from our residents and families, to ensure each resident receives individualized care. Resident and loved ones are informed and active decision-makers. We also offer Bereavement support to individuals who seek it, extending our care beyond the residents we serve.

Accreditation Canada Exemplary Standing Seal

Accredited with Exemplary Standing

Red Deer Hospice is proud to be Accredited with Exemplary Standing, the highest designation granted by Accreditation Canada. This recognition reflects our commitment to providing compassionate, people-centred end-of-life care for residents and their loved ones.

Accreditation involves a comprehensive on-site review, including conversations with staff, residents, families, and community partners. It looks closely at how care is delivered, how safety and dignity are supported, and how organizations continuously learn and improve.

Achieving Exemplary Standing affirms that Red Deer Hospice consistently exceeds national standards and lives its values in meaningful ways. It reflects our vision to be a leader in excellent, creative, and holistic hospice care — and our ongoing commitment to listening, learning, and journeying alongside residents and families with compassion and respect.

Healing Garden

The Red Deer Hospice Healing Garden is a treasured space enjoyed by residents, families and the community. Featuring a mixture of trees, perennials, benches, walking paths, bridges and a fountain feature, this area offers a peaceful environment. Recently we added the customized benches situated in a secluded spot, giving our families a private space to grieve which was our final requirement to attain Healing Garden status!

Red Deer Hospice has a group of committed and knowledgeable volunteers who put in countless hours every year, maintaining the garden and ensuring it is well looked after.
